R55 HID Xenon Beam Too Low

This seems to be a common complaint; I share it, too. My understanding is that it was put low so as not to annoy drivers coming from the opposite direction. Unfortunately that makes forward vision at night quite un-good.
There are instructions somewhere in these forums about how to change it, and I'm definitely going to do that as well.

I raised mine up just a tad, made a huge difference. There are leveling and left/right adjusting philips screws on the lights. Pop the bonnet, the ones on the inside (towards the center of the engine) are up and down adjusters.
I put some tape on the garage and raised them up just about a 1/4 inch or so.
I don't have my clubman this week, if someone can just post a picture of the adjusters that would be easier.

Plus, with the ride-height on the R55 / R56 being so low, the angle would be above 0-degree horizontal...

Even easier is to get a standard screwdriver and insert it into each little black rubber screw on top of each headlight housing and turn easch one equally until it appears correct. I remember adjusting mine up about a full turn and have had no complaints from other drivers.

Initially yes, I raised the lights to much.. After several adjustments I now have it dialed in and no longer get any flashes from oncoming traffic.

That's the procedure I used with Cibie 100w headlights I installed on my '76 Dodge van back in the mid-70's. Two inch drop at 25 feet is a good starting point, but you may want to go out on a dark road with a screwdriver and play with it a bit.

Thanks so much to search engines for leading me here! I have owned Jemma, my 2008 Clubman S for 2 weeks. I participated in the New London to New Brighton ride this weekend, and on my way home (it was late, hence dark!) I got "beamed" by about 40 other cars! I was so hoping that this would be an easy thing to correct!
One of the cars that "beamed" me took exception to me "winking" back at him and blasted me with his high beams until we passed. Nice way to let me know you don't like my headlamps!
