R55 Removing Spoiler?

Well here again we have another question. did you order the car and did the spoiler get added at the factory by the dealer or did the dealer install it.
If it came from the factory:
You will have to put the headliner down to get to the screws. The problem this leaves is holes (4 I think) in the roof, that will need to be welded and then the roof painted. You could use plugs in the holes but that will probably look horrible.
If the dealer installed:
There probably is no screws and they glued it on. The dealer would have to take ou the headliner, remove the air bags and then drill holes in the roof. That is something dealers do not want to do.

Well, that explains their reluctance to remove it. When I said I didn't want it and didn't want to pay for it, they said they wouldn't charge for it. It's on the dealer invoice, so I assume it's factory. I needed a car right away so I didn't have time to order one.
Darn. Sounds like too much trouble to remove something that others would consider a plus.
That's okay, otherwise I'm thrilled with my sweet new ride. Now to find a Union Jack for my sun roof...

Here's another question for you, I just picked up a brand new factory JCW spoiler and it says above that it's glued on? With WHAT!? I've I can legally drive my car at well over 100mph will glue/epoxy hold it on safely? I don't want to lose a JCW spoiler at 150mph...
Having said that, I opened my spoiler and each side has 3 holes, each side has one threaded nutsert (centered) and the other two holes are about the same diameter (3/16" maybe) without inserts.
I'll swing by the local dealer today and inquire and see what they say.

Can one of you guys with the factory spoiler (curved non-JCW) please do me a big favor and measure the distance between the backend of the base to the rear edge of the roof?
I just scored off eBay a roof spoiler that's already painted pure silver to match. I have no problem drilling 4 holes on my roof, but I would like to know where exactly the spoiler is mounted at the factory.

Can anybody help me with a quick measurement of their factory Clubman rear spoiler? The mounting face of the spoiler and the roof both have compound curves and contours, but the standoffs on the spoiler don't allow the spoiler to lie flush on the roof. I am afraid if I don't get the location exactly right, I'll end up with a leaking nightmare.

Here are the install instructions: http://www.minimania.com/pdfile/R55_Roof_Spoiler.pdf
I recommend using Betalink K1 (what I used) because they instructions call for K2 which is overpriced and needs their special gun. Stupid design and overpriced. The Betalink K1 handled the worst that German winters and one FL summer could throw at it as well as top speed runs on the Autobahn.
You can buy it on ebay.de if the seller will ship international. You really don't need the whole kit as the other parts in the kit are a spreader (butter knife) and betaclean (a cleaner/primer).
