Rear Seat Pull Straps?
Hi Everyone,
Right after we got our '09 Clubby the first accessory I added was a set of rear seat pull straps that I got from www.gominigo.com. I'm looking to obtain a second set of straps but unfortunately gominigo.com and/or allminiparts.com no longer carry them. Does anyone out there in MINI-land know of a source for these straps? If you do I'd 'preciate a referral. Thanks.

I don't know if this matches what you bought previously, but I got a set from mossmini which are great.

but I'm not sure if that works with your year and model.
you could also try outmotoring.com

Rear Seat Pull Straps
Thanks very much for the tip. I'll check it out ASAP. I was disappointed that gominigo and allminiparts stopped carrying this item. If you're driving a Clubby it's a no-brainer to install these straps ... they make retrieving the folded rear seats so much easier that I'm surprised MINI hasn't added them as an accessory.

I made my own from some utility cord I bought at my local camping store. You can get the cord in a variety of colors to match your car. You don't need very much and it is pretty cheap. You can look online at stores like REI for 3mm utility cord for examples. You wouldn't have to use climbing rope, almost anything will work.
I made two identical pieces, about 18 inches long (finished) with loops on both ends. I pulled the headrest out and put it back in inserting the two prongs through one of the loops. The other end of the rope has a loop for hooking with your finger. It took a bit of experimenting to get the headrest loop the right size (tight).
I still have to hold the seatbelt out of the way when I fold the seats up, but I don't have to climb clear in the car anymore.

On a related rope topic, you can use this same cord to make shoelaces. Since the cord comes in colors, it's fun for the kids (adults too). Measure out the cord using an existing shoelace as an example. Before you cut it, soak about 1" of the new cord in super glue (do this over an old magazine or something, wear gloves or watch your fingers....I've glued mine together many times!)
After the glue dries cut the rope in the middle of the hard spot. If you use a razor blade or something really sharp, you will get a better cut. The end of the cord will stay hard and won't fray so you can thread it through your shoe eyelets.
Plus it's fun to tell people, "I make my own shoelaces."
