If you have the black checkered dash trim (2011 only?) how is it holding up?

I have piano black dash/door trim in my 2011 Clubman S, which I will have had for two weeks tomorrow (side note: squee!) and it already has some fine scratches that you can see when the sun hits it. It also shows some finger smudges and every tiny fleck of dust is easy to spot on it's shiny surface.

When test driving I tried one with trim that had small black on black checks; I really liked the look of it. However, it is basically piano black with some matte squares on it... so before I go through the expense of switching it out, I was wondering if anyone out there has this trim and could tell me how it was holding up.

Thanks!

Checkered Trim

Have had mine for two months (note - have three kids) and it is holding up well. Fingerprints are mitigated very well. No issues with scratches - even with the kids.

I have it and its fine, cool looking actually. A bit of a faux carbon fiber look.

I have the checkers in the R55 and piano black i the R57. The checkers show less scratches than the black. Checks have been installed for 3 months and no problems. Very pleased.
My $.02 worth.

I have the solid black and it does have some scratched and its 2.5 years old. Nothing major that bothers me. I do keep one of those soft rags that are used to clean sunglasses off in the glove box to keep that stuff clean though.....

Mine seems to be holding up ok, I don't really notice anything but it's possible dirt/scratches are there, but obviously not enough to make me notices. I use a microfiber cloth to wipe down my interior dashes every couple of weeks. It'll be a lot more often when pollen season kicks in since I sometimes leave my sunroof open while out on quick errands or something.
