2 dents in roof, above club door - defect?

I was waxing the Clubman tonight, and noticed 2 small dents in the roof, right above the club door. I opened the doors and noticed it directly corresponds to the latch at the top of the roof where the club door latches.

Has anyone noticed anything similar on their Clubman?

I have never slammed the doors. I do use the club door once to twice everyday as I transport my daughter. I would hope that would not be classified as excessive use.

Another thing that has me worried is I have been hearing a body creak when I turn and go over bumps. Its kind of like the stress on the car from turning is making something creak like some old car. The sound has been coming from the club door area. After noticing the dents today, Im now concerened. I hope the creak isn't related...

In the picture, I circled the 2 dents. You can kind of see how the reflection is distorted. I also drew 2 lines that lead down to the latch so you can see how the dents line up.

No, no dents. No creaks either. Have the dealer look at it.

I have noticed a creak sometimes when our Clubman's body is torqued, as when entering a steep driveway at an angle. I suspect dry barn door hinges or latch, but I never get around to squirting some Teflon lube into them.

I read years ago that those dimples were caused by the weld points of the roof to the frame. FWIW

every time I pull into my apartment's parking lot, I get that sound too. Is that bad or just something that comes with anything mechanical?

Maybe today I will get those friction points lubed and see if there is any difference.

I can live with the creak. The number one issue is the car developing dents out of nowhere. Now I have an ugly dented roof for no reason.

Checked club door of our 2009 Clubman today -- no dents. Checked a 2011 at a dealership today -- no dents. Could someone have left a jacket or object in the door and then closed it hard? Sorry, that's all I can offer

The dents are not in the door, but in the roof above the door. Ive had my car for 2 1/2 years, so it took that long for the dents to develop, for what thats worth.

I have read a couple small threads in another forum that seem to point to the weld dimple issue that was stated earlier. What this means as far as working with Mini, Im not sure yet.
