How's the inside clearance? I'm considering both a 8" or 8.5" with 'flush' offset for the face of the wheel to match the wheel arch.

I wanted 18x8 and my wheel dealer contacted Japan for suggested offset. They said 42. I trusted their input. Rim and tire (205/40/18) do not rub anywhere, front or back. For 18x8, 42 is I think safe size as anything wider would rub the shock at the front. Anyway, with my lowering springs and this size I did not have any issues so far.... Very happy!
I still have 5mm spacers that I used before, but I see no need for them now. I just don't want to provoke any officers with having to aggressive rims sticking out...
