Warning Light...Engine Too Hot

I had the warning light (one with a thermostat and coolant thing) in yellow light up while driving in my Clubman two times in three days, it will pop up for about 10 seconds and gone (both times), I am in SoCal and this past week is not really that HOT (80s to 90s). I check the owner's manual and it said if the light in Red is "Overheating" and if yellow, it is "Engine Too Hot"...what does that mean? I scheduled an appointment next week to take a look but are there anyone experience something similar before?

Regularly checking the oil level is always a good plan, but for an overheat situation, one should check the coolant level first. If that's fine, you may be looking at a sticky (or stuck) thermostat. Or even a bad water pump.

If you're driving about and get warning lights about the engine overheating, you should also turn on the cabin heat. I know that can be uncomfortable during the summer months, but it might help to cool the engine by drawing heat away from it and dumping it into the passenger cabin. You can always open the windows and/or sunroof to expel the heat from the cabin. And a quick shower is cheaper than a new engine...!

And of course, if you're leaking coolant badly, this action (turning on the cabin heat) will be, at best, a very temporary solution.

Dealer found out it's because of "leaking turbocharger cooling pump" and leaking water pump...maybe the combination of those tow things together. will get my Clubman back tomorrow

I guess the "turbocharging cooling pump" is aka "auxiliary cooling pump" as listed on the repair order sheet.
