Good News/Bad News For Clubbie Owners
The good news is that Clubbies are among the least stolen cars in the U.S.
The bad news is that may be because (and judging from the fact that the Cadillac Escalade is the most stolen vehicle) they are not perceived as 'hip' and 'cool' by thieves... But then again, they're thieves; so what do they know...?

Most thieves don't steal what they think is "cool", they steal what they think they can part out and sell quickly, easily and for the most money... Used Clubman parts (or even MINI parts in general) aren't the quickest/easiest things to move on the street, I don't imagine. Couple that with the fact that there are relatively few Clubman to steal compared to most other cars, it makes sense that they'd not be stolen often.

Well the flipside to that is that we have engine immobilizers. When I bought my car insurance, I received a hefty discount with the company stating that I have anti-theft system when I didn't get the factory alarm. I asked them why and they say that because all Mini comes with excellent engine immobilizer. I verified this with my SA. He states that pretty much the only way for thieves to steal our clubman is to bring a flatbed and haul it away.

As was said, thieves don't steal what's cool. Joy-riding isn't the reason why most cars are stolen. They're stolen to turn in to cash by selling the parts.
What, did you think all of those old Civics were getting jacked because they're cool? Please.
Mini Coopers in general just aren't good targets. Immoblizers + customization + small volume = a nightmare for thieves. These cars are easier to I.D. after stolen and much harder to shift parts for. It just ain't worth it.
