First, I apologize if there is already something about this issue out there; I didn't find it. I am pretty sure that there is something wrong with this picture. It's from above the muffler of my 2010 Clubman. The picture was taken from the rear tire. Any thoughts?

 

That is heat shielding to keep the boot floor from getting too warm. Perfectly normal unless it was knocked loose or out of place.

 

Thanks. It is definitely out of place. I had never seen that before. it is almost rubbing against another part! I am going to have to go to a mechanic.

 

Can you lay down and get a picture of it from the bottom? It is hard to tell in relation, the distance. I think you can see some of it through the wheel on my '09
