Remote Start

I have a 2012 Clubman S with the Anti-theft alarm and Comfort Access features. Anyone have any expirience with any remote starting systems and will they work with these features?

Remote start installs that have to bypass the OEM alarm and electronics are a b!%@#-and-a-half.
Partly because the key fob NEEDS to be in / near the vehicle to have the immobilizer system deactivate to start the vehicle.
However, there are a few people who attempted such; contact SooperCooperErik for more details:

I don't have experience but as I remember from other threads on NAM, It's very difficult if not impossible... comfort access or not.

Also the owners manual recommends against idling warm ups...

Page 39 '10 Clubman (Online version):
...."Do not let the engine warm up with the vehicle at a standstill. Move off immediately at a moderate engine speed.".......

And here is a thread where a number of people complain that they have bad running conditions when letting the car warm up. When they tried just driving off with out warm up the problems of low power and sputtering went away.

It is a BAD idea to let the MINI warm up at idle

Thanks for the replies, I'm new to this site and to the Mini. I was not aware of the warning of idle warm-ups. I had a feeling that a remote start system would be a pain with all the ignition features the Mini has. Thanks again!
