R55 Significant Difference Between S/Non-S

Ask the FIAT dealer for an extended warranty. There's nothing "magic" about MINI's version. The MINI dealer will work with anyone. Just make sure it a reputable company.

Well, the FIAT dealer offers warranties, but they are First Extended and I've heard terrible things about them.
<E> Well, my credit union offers Route 66 warranty which seems to have better reviews. It's $1875 for a "premium car" which they list the Mini Cooper as. It is 5 years/100k. Is that a good deal?

Get the VIN number and make sure all the recall work has been done. See if the clutch has been replaced, and brakes. That higher mileage could mean easy highway miles, or lots of rough stop-n-go (which quickly wears out brakes and clutch linings).
$16K for a nice Clubman is a nice deal. Buying a car always sux.
