I had the same issue with a back injury and found out that unless you go right to the DR. being a tough guy gets you the finger from the insurance and courts. Good luck with your injuries and hopefully its a last time for this for you both.

Just a note to anyone that has an accident to any bumper area with no visible signs of damage-

Get the car checked out by your insurance claims specialist to look for "hidden" damage under the bumper which is ALWAYS the place to be damaged if the bump was significant.

A small rear bumper bump is about $1000-1200 in damage for the MINI.

Don't assume so. I was rear ended, bumper cover needed to be replaced, was pretty messed up. No other dmg underneath, dmg was $450.
