Clubman adventure II

So after selling my first clubman and having a brief affair with a coupe for the last 12 months, the coupe has now gone to make way for clubman no.2.

First one had a number of looks...

Ended up like this ....

So now clubman adventure II has arrived, a few extras and finished in eclipse grey.

And so the modding starts

Nice! Gonna say I like the second go around alittle better. I'm biased to the Dark silver with black combo. Mods are looking good! What else is in store for the Clubbie?

Got a few more colour coded bits, led bulbs and 12mm spacers to fit. Really needs a drop so most likely some coilovers - would love bags but they charge a premium over here in uk. Also new wheels on list - these R112's are a pain in the *** to clean plus I want to convert to 5 stud at some point to give better choice in wheels.

Kito - loving your work

It's a beauty. Love the first side skirts.

Isn't the steering wheel on the wrong side? Lol

Keep motoring

Thanks for the comments

Unfortunately no major changes but it was time to cure my fascination with blue led's

All puddle lights and footwell lights changed

Also interior light, 1x blue led and 2x bright white 501 bulbs

Stubby aerial
It seems the thread on the late R55's has changed from 5mm to 6mm so i had to buy a new one - this ones a MINI aerial, radio signal reception is better than the cheap ones I've had in the past.. almost makes up for the premium MINI have marked these up by £20!!

Should clear the local electric pylons now!

Booty
False floor removed and MINI rubber mat fitted - gives you so much more room

Time for a quick update...

So I've now fitted the grooved discs that I had on the coupe, they were a little rusty in places so I rubbed them down with a wire drill bit and sprayed silver - hopefully this will keep them clean looking for a while

Originally look like this new
Name: P1020082.jpg
Views: 199
Size: 52.5 KB

Inside the vents were also rusty so sprayed the insides whilst I was at it to give this finish

Whilst the wheels were off, I fitted the 12mm eibach spacers kindly donated by the coupe- I will have to watch the rear when fully loaded as the tyres may rub with these alloys fitted - the springs should also drop down another 10mm

Name: P1020611.jpg
Views: 192
Size: 117.9 KB

At the moment I can't afford coilovers so I found a set of PI springs on eBay- they'll do until get some coils.

Quick photo after fitting, I'm hoping it will settle down a bit more.... a lot more! as the springs should give 25mm drop in rear and 30mm on front.

Stock springs

Subtle drop - not low enough though

Fly eye kit

The new style lights for the clubmans have a bit too much chrome going on IMO, I'd like to have the chrome sprayed in the future but as the units are sealed - like the headlights, they'll need baking in the oven for a while like a joey mod.
So, in order to dull down the chrome I thought I'd give the fly eye kit a go.

Rear lamps before

The kit comes with scalpel and flat blade to apply the perforated vinyl - easy to use but having three curves and four edges to work around the lamp a fair bit of stretching and re-working is involved. I think other lamps - first gen and 2nd gen, may be easier and those wanting to use the kit on headlights should be a far easier job.

2nd attempt turnout like this...

It's not perfect so I'll see how it wears and re-do at a later stage

Final result... Just need to sort the reflectors out now

Nicely done!!! Must be awesome having a mint fresh brand new Clubman to play with. luv the color choice too. My '08 Clubbie S has ticked over 100k km now, but I still luv her. Just not so worried anymore about dings, dents, scratches, salt stains, etc, etc. She still gets tons of TLC but........ she's a daily driver all year round and time has taken its toll.

Your car is looking great!
I was wondering, were you able to buy the grill frame in the matching body color or is this something you painted yourself?
