Help - Fuel Rail Hose disconected
Dear all,
This is my first post ever.
Forgive my ignorance on the subject but a few days ago I had the hydraulic lifters replaced on my 2009 Mini Cooper Clubman.
I was driving saturday night and when I reached my home the engine just turned off.
I tried to turn it on again and heard / smelled gas leaking. I left it at that.
Next day under the sunlight I opened the hood and found that the hose that feeds the gas rail was disconnected.
See image1.
I re-attached it and that was it.
See picture Image2.
I wish you all a Happy New Year

- Is there any reason why this could have detached?
- Was there any need for the mechanic to detach when servicing lifters and simply left it improperly mounted?
- Does it look OK to you all as it is now (see image3)?
- Should I be afraid it will detach on its own again?
- Should I replace the hose that connects to the fuel rail all together?
I wish you all a Happy New Year
