Help - Fuel Rail Hose disconected

Dear all,

This is my first post ever.

Forgive my ignorance on the subject but a few days ago I had the hydraulic lifters replaced on my 2009 Mini Cooper Clubman.

I was driving saturday night and when I reached my home the engine just turned off.

I tried to turn it on again and heard / smelled gas leaking. I left it at that.

Next day under the sunlight I opened the hood and found that the hose that feeds the gas rail was disconnected.

See image1.

I re-attached it and that was it.

See picture Image2.

  1. Is there any reason why this could have detached?
  2. Was there any need for the mechanic to detach when servicing lifters and simply left it improperly mounted?
  3. Does it look OK to you all as it is now (see image3)?
  4. Should I be afraid it will detach on its own again?
  5. Should I replace the hose that connects to the fuel rail all together?
I thank you up front for any light you can shed on this matter.

I wish you all a Happy New Year
