My initial impressions are good. They have great amounts of lateral grip. My first track day will be on the 30th at the Nurburgring. I will report back and let you know how they work out. Some say that they do not hold heat very well and can start to overheat on prolonged track sessions. One lap takes us 8 1/2-9 minutes so we shall see.

I was really unsure about the 235/40 fitting ok. I think if your ran an et 35 rim it would be not rouble at all. You might need a 3-5mm spacer up front just to be safe. I have to say that the 235 has increased the pull of the road alot though, but the steering feedback and overall feeling is really improved as well. I would reccomend it to anyone who drives their car on the harder side of the gas pedal.

My wife just bought a 2013 Spiced Orange Clubman so I thought I'd take a look at the R55 threads...
I have a few questions. I have an R59 Roadster S.
1. did you need to use spacers for the wider 8.25 wheels, or did you use a camber adjustment kit.
2. How has the ride changed with the wider tires? Those Toyo R1R's in that size are right up there on my list with the Falken RT-615k's (I had the Falken R615's on my Miata and they were incredible)
You have a wicked cool ride all de chromed......

No spacers were required. These are the 25mm Offset and are also available in a 35mm. I have BC racing Coil overs that come with camber plates for the front. They are adjusted completely negative to get that fitment. Which is a positive thing if you plan to track or autocross the roadster. The 235's make the steering feel a little heavier and transmits feedback better. However you will notice the pull of the grooves in the road more.
