Guys and gals,
My check engine light came on today with no noticeable issues to the clubman. Oil level is good, but I had it changed a couple months ago and the dealer didn't reset the date in the computer. So it tells me I need oil service in 600 miles. Could this be causing the engine light to come on? Also, is there anyway to reset this myself? The car has nearly 43,000 miles on it currently as well.
Curious if I can turn this light off without going to the dealer since I recently moved and the closest mini dealer is 2 hours away. There is a BMW dealer in town but I don't know if they do mini work and uphold the warranty. Thanks in advance.

 

Autozone auto parts stores will read your codes for free, that will tell you what you car is complaining about.
