Replace light in trunk of clubman

I replaced all my interior lights yesterday with LEDs, but something weird happened. My trunk light (cargo area light) doesnt work now! The weird thing is that that is the only light I did not touch! All the other ones work but that one. Does anyone know how to change that light? I couldnt get the panel thing off last night

thanks in advance.

Probably blew the fuse. Fuse F14

That lamp is on the same fuse as other bulbs.

Check the visor lights.

Otherwise, your boot switch is probably bad or gummed up.

Normally just pull on the light lens to get it to pop out (but I am not entirely sure about the Clubman).

On my 2013 Clubman I had to remove the trunk lining and pop the light out from the back. I dont think there is an easy way to remove the light from the front. The grill is glued to the liner, so dont try to pry the grill off.

Here is what the trunk light looks like when it is out. If you cant pop it out from behind, you'll have to somehow pry the side. Notice that there are plastic prongs on both sides and that this is not a spring loaded light.

You are welcome. Well here's a thought: Maybe you could somehow loop a piece of stiff wire through the vent around the back of the light fixture. If you pull towards you, you might be able to pop the fixture out.

Second optoin is to try to pry it out, but since the fixture is recessed, it wont be easy and you might break some of the plastic. yeah, this light is a pain to remove Good luck

No need to pull the panel off to get the light housing out. Here is a video that shows how to do it.

And yes there is a 95 pound Great Pyrenees/Yellow Lab mix that travels with me just about everywhere. Even to work some days. That is why there is so much hair showing around on the carpeted side panel. Even the best of boot covers has not eliminated the hair in the carpet so i just took them it out.

Thanks for posting this! I guess I was too afraid of cracking the plastic to try with a screwdriver, plus I already had the liner off for the alarm beep mod.
It was good that you explained the dog hair. At first I thought it was a "fur lined interior" mod
