Should I be concerned?
Hello everyone,
I have recently noticed a "gargling" type sound in my brand new, less than 500 miles, Mini Clubman S.
The noise doesn't seem to happen all the time but when I notice it most I am letting off the gas and coasting while in gear. After the noise starts it doesn't seem to go away and the car doesn't have the responsivness when accelerating into the turbo range. Instead it seems to "growl" without the acceleration boost.
The only thing that seems to "re-set" this issue is turning the motor off and then restarting.
Hopefully I've explained this well enough to get some feedback.
I think since I'm so close to my dealer I'm going to have them look at it but wanted to get some thoughts.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for your reply, I'll check out the exhaust sounds on YouTube. I'm not positive that the noise I'm hearing isn't coming from the engine as much as the exhaust, I'll have to pay more attention. I agree with you, if it was a definite burble sound from the exhaust I would be happy!
Thanks again
