NM Engineering Intake Sensor Question?

2011 Mini Clubman S (N18 Engine)

I got the full NM Eng Intake Kit (Turbo Induction Pipe & Filter Intake) from and online vendor for a reasonable price. When I got to the end of the install I came across and odd sensor. It looks like some sort of flow sensor in the PCV vent system, some sort or EVAP or Emissions sensor? It seems like this kit was for non-us models that dont utilize this sensor. The seller states it fits any models and are less than helpful. I like to keep as many sensors functioning if possible but it has and odd half circle like outlet. I work long hour during the week and don't have the time to call NM. I have sent NM three emails about this and it was disappointing that in over a week I have not received a response so they are either to busy or don't care. Its probably the last NM product i'll purchase since tech support doesn't seem to be a priority. So, anyone know what exactly this sensor is and is it necessary to be there. I have it bypassed for the last week without issue. Depending on kits i've seen it deleted and utilized in catch can systems. This is not my engine bay but I took it off google and highlighted the sensor in question.

Have you tried calling NM instead of Emailing? I didn't have an issue getting answers from them.

No I haven't. by the time I get in M-F they arent open and I dont have access to call them during the work day. No being able to answer any emails is ridiculous. I've come to realize i'm on my own to figure this out. BMW is know to add useless sensors and gadets (noisemaker mechanical cabin speaker)

Im guessing its the PCV heater element (prevents ice clogs in cold weather or low pressures..)

At least on my intake (N14) the sensor just stayed with the PCV, is this not possible on the N18? Hard to tell how different it is in that picture...

It was like plastic welded to the OEM Induction Pipe. I was going to try to install it like in you pic but its a weird half circle inlet on the sensor.
