So... I bought Scarlet, a CPO 2012 Clubman 6-speed with 6,498 miles on her 8/12/2013 - she's got 10,490 on her now. Under warranty - good for me as far as repair costs... but proximity to dealership is 90 miles.

10/14 @ around 9k miles she lost power on the highway and went into limp mode. Towed her in and dealer replaced 4 spark plugs said all was ok. They test drove her 1 flippin mile.

I pick her up, get 3 miles from dealer and she does it again. Towed back in and they kept her for 10 days and put 200 miles on her. They said the DME was bad and replaced it and 4 fuel injectors.

So 10/30 she did it AGAIN and I drove on home in limp mode, she was shaking and sounded like a 1970 VW Beetle, nearly died at every idle, rough, rough acceleration and I had her towed from my driveway.

10/31 I go get a loaner and they quiz me about gas: non-ethanol 90 octane but they test the gas and say it's fine. Say they're going to replace a sensor of some kind.

Anyone else have any issues with this? I'm freaked out because of the recent year model, with so few miles, but SO MANY PROBLEMS!

...but I love my Scarlet So I am really sad about my little car.

 

I just recently had a similar issue, but have fault codes telling me there is a torque communication error. Not sure what to do about it as I too live 90 miles from the dealer.
