New Tires, Redux

The topic of tire upgrades, changes, and alternatives has been bantered around.
Having done my research, I just did the folllowing

Goodrich Driveguard 205/55/16

Upgraded from a 195/55/16 OEM tire.

These are runflats, all season for a reasonable price. Goodrich is trying to get more people to get into the RFT market and have put out an all season tire in a variety of sizes.

The good news it that it is VERY reasonably priced for an RFT. Cost me 129 dollars per tire.

Also, multiple sizes and an all season.

The ride, after about 200 miles is a world above the OEM RFTs. Smooth, good cushioning, and as I'm not doing rally driving, great control

i went to a 205/55/16 because I wanted the additional cushioning and my speedo error based on GPS was about 3mph fast at 65. This size corrects it a small amount. Also, the larger size gives more air..and more cushioning.

So, if you're on the cusp about what new tire, don't want a performance tire and want an RFT. And, don't want a specific winter tire but want a four season tire, look at this one.

I am a happy customer.
