JCW Aero II Kit and Back up Sensors

Does anyone know how or if a JCW Aero II kit would work with Back up sensors?

Well, there are 2 versions of the kits. With PDC (sensors) or Without PDC ( no sensors). So as long as you get a kit that includes PDC, then you should be just fine. If you get a kit w/o PDC then its get complicated and sketchy with drilling holes and not looking very good.

There are JCW Aero II kits that have the PDC holes and some dont ( without PDC ). If you have without and you have them on the Clubman already , you will have to drill / mod for the upper center holes , They lower tims you can get new parts with the holes or drill / mod also.

Without PDC

With PDC

Thanks

NA in the body color prepainted. I looked for a friend of mine actually! You'll have to get the primed kit and paint it. Thats what I had to do with my Laser Blue. Kind of sucks, but its still a good deal!

I have the factory S Kit and I am debating...

1. Get the black kit and bolt it on and go.

2. Get the Primed Kit, get it painted, BOAG.

3. Get the two side skirts in black.

I don't really see the huge difference in the S kit and the JCW kit.

You will need the conversion kit 4 for MY 8/2010-3/2012 also. If you get the 2008-8/2010 kits.

No High Class Grey in the Sale kits prepainted. Just primed versions.

What year do you have , looks like a 2012 ? The coversion 4 and the older -8/2010 kits work up to 3/2012. Check your production month/year. For 3/2012+ newer i don't know if the older kits will work .

Thanks

Yea, I dont know anyone who has put the older kit on a post 3/2012 . I know allot is similiar but its under the bumper ( brakets ) that might have changed. Across the board 3/2012 the JCW body kits changed.

3/2012+ kit

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/51952297908/

Then you get the front and rear bumper separate, trim covers, carrier, MINI changed how the kit was done for 3/2012+ , not in all in one kit. Also if you have PDC or not.

I guess they streamlined shared parts.

Let me know if you still want the JCW 3/2012+ body kit. Its still very nice.

So even if I wanted to try, I would need a retrofit and it would cost me another 1060 and still not be a guaranteed fit? Bummer.

The 3/2012+ kit will fit your MINI R55 . Its the older kits => newer 3/2012+ MINI R55 I am not sure will work.

it's interesting that you bring this up because I have been searching everywhere for an answer to this question. The application guides for most of the JCW Aero Kit II listings say up to 3/2012, but this coincides to when they switched to offering the current, a la carte kit offering. The JCW II kit is supposed to fit at least the LCI models from late 2010 - 3/2012, using the conversion kit, which contains a new bumper carrier to mimic the one used on pre-LCI vehicles and the 2 reverse lights that are no longer featured on the LCI R56. Most listings for this conversion kit only say they are for installing the JCW II kit on LCI vehicles, some specifically say 2010 and newer, but none of the listings seem to indicate that it wouldn't work for the models past 3/2012. I do remember reading somewhere a while ago that even though no visible changes were made between 2012 and 2013, something changed regarding EU regulations that required the bits behind the front bumper of the 2013 to be altered slightly, which would indicate that the older kits will not work. However, I can't really see a reason why, with the replacement of the bumper carrier, it wouldn't work, seeing as its the carrier that the aerokit is mounted to. Looking at the stock bumper carrier diagrams on realoem.com, you can see that there is a slight part number difference in the listings between 2011 models and 2013, but they don't clearly indicate what the differences are, besides a part number change. Long story short, the answer to this might be in the details of a EU requirement mandate that went into effect between 2012 and 2013, but I have not had any success in finding this information (and I've done a LOT of googling).

Well... Looks like I'll try to be the first to make the olderJCW aero II kit work on a 2013+

If it is a no go then the parts I can't get to work will be up for sale.

Wish me luck

Front fits with some modification needed... Sides, no problem... As for the rear, it seems as though there is something missing. There is no place for the license plate lights... There is just a big gap. I will take some pictures once I get my car back.

On the bumper the top portion is the same as the JCW and NON JCW , that holds the plate lights ? This part you reuse with the new kit. Take some pics , very confused here.

Clubman S

Clubman NON S

I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow. Maybe it was a change with the 2014 Clubman base bumper. The body guy at the shop didn't see anyway to transfer the license plate lights to the JCW bumper. I'll start a different thread with pics when I get a chance to do so.

The lic plate lights should be in the same location the top portion of the Bumper is reused with the JCW bottom half ? Also the rear plate bracket is here, it for some reason does not come with the kit.

Just states in conjunction with this. Does not state the plate on the install pdf. Which s the plate holder.

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/51187160607/

So it must be shelf tapping screws into the center of the bumper plastic. Then reuse the four plate screws.
