R55 Bad BOV?

Bad BOV?
So pick up my 2008 clubman s right before Christmas 2014 and since then been fighting gremlins. The turbo and alternator went bad quite close to the same time so i figured i dont know the full history of the car i will replace timing components since i am getting a little rattle upon start considering how mush i have to remove to do the turbo and alternator why not go the extra mile and really take care of the common issues to be as happy with the car as i want to be.....
Well did everything with the timing, replaced the alternator, and turbo(used low mile)... filled fluids and started her up!! Ran better then ever since i have owned it!! drove it up the road and heard the pop noise like a vacuum line blew and the car stalls. got it back home as the car wont start sounds like the starter is not engaging. Look around find nothing visually so i figure pull the valve cover and re check timing. Upon pulling the valve cover i realize my exhaust valves are all stuck wide open! Maybe bent have not had time to go further yet. i want to try to figure out want happened so after i put thousands more into the motor this wont happen again.
Timing was still right cam to cam but i have not checked the crank by putting the pin in yet.
The reason im thinking BOV is when i was driving i saw my boost gauge spike way up! it did not make the noise then though it was when i turned around to go back home. Did not get to to see the boost gauge then but did not feel crazy power or anything.... Did the valves float and bend?
Would really like to know if any one have ever known this to happen or what could have caused this to avoid it from happening again. I truly enjoyed the car and its really getting to a point of moving on from it.
