The scariest part is that they had your car 3 days...

How do you know that? Is it what the dealer told you? When they returned the car to you, what does the work order printout say? It should show what they did and how they concluded that cylinder 3 is "not working" (or was that your own conclusion?). Did they recommend anything? Any test or teardown?
Exactly what issues and symptoms are you experiencing?

You should go to Autozone, they're capable of doing more in 5 minutes than your dealer did in three days. Or you could pull your head out of your ascot and tell us what is going on with your car. Everyone is trying to help you but you need to participate in this troubleshooting process.
The dealer did absolutely nothing for 3 days? I call ******** on this.
What did they say they would do when you dropped it off?
Did they scan for codes? If so what codes were there?
Did you drive the car there or tow it?
Did they start the car? If they did they would be able to tell that a cylinder was not firing by a rough idle and therefore wouldn't need to see a check engine light. If it idled fine and they drove the car they would still be able to notice a misfire if a cylinder is "dead," whatever that means. (Since you are incapable of elaborating on what this means.)
What does the paperwork from the dealer state they did?

We're at an impasse because you won't answer any questions.
There are several possible causes with different fixes. Some of these fixes cost thousands of dollars. I can tell you that when I saw the thread title "Dead cylinder", my first thought was $$$$. Maybe it's something simpler, but we can only guess without more information.
Seriously, you need to take it to a shop and get it properly diagnosed.

Okay. You can lose a spark plug, or just a plug wire and have a dead cyl.
Same for an ignition coil or injector on cyl. #3 in your engine.
Or, it can be much more expensive with something mechnical that has failed on your engine.
As others have posted, find a shop that is more interested in fixing your car than that dealer seem to be...
What is most curious is that generally you will set Misfire codes and fuel trim codes with a weak or dead cyl. since the engine management system usually starts to react to a large misfire to prevent emissions levels out of the tailpipe from getting too high.
