New battery replacement?

I have a '09 Clubman S and it's about time for a new battery. Can I get one at Sam's Club or does it have to be a special one from the dealer? Also, when I replace it, will it be a problem with the codes, etc. I could use a battery tender during the change out but is that absolutely necessary?

Thanks...

Mike

There's nothing hokus pokus about MINI batteries. Any auto parts store has auto batteries.

As stated; many outlets for batteries, we use the Super Start Gold group 47 from O'Reilleys in all of our customer cars, it's a great battery, decent warranty, and about $150.

Coding the battery to the car is recommended either at the time of install or promptly afterwards.

There are a lot of threads about this. I just changed my battery (2010MCS convert). I did not code the battery as my Coop does not have "IBS" Intelligent Battery Sensor".

2009 does not have IBS. Amazing you got 7 years out of a battery though! I had to replace the one in my '08 in 2014, and I thought that was great.

My 2009 Clubman still has the same battery in it! it will be time very soon! last week I killed it while talking to my gf with the radio on for two long. I thought that was the end of the battery but I let the car sit for about 20 minutes and it started right in up...
