Automatic shift **** removal/replacement?
Greetings-
Have an 09 Clubman (Justa) with automatic transmission. Apparently the internal spring on the shift **** button (which must be pulled to move the shifter out of park/etc) has broken and occasionally the button jams. More than likely will need to replace the shift ****. I've seen many articles on how to replace the manual **** (short form- pull REALLY hard), but not the automatic. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

and watch out for your face, sunroof, and the family jewels...
I twisted/wiggled the shift **** while pulling up and it seemed to loosen it a little more gradually than just breaking loose without warning. It was replaced it with a MOMO manual **** which doesn't have a button. I just use the secondary lockout feature of having to step on the brake pedal to shift in and out of park, and whatever other gears they are locking out. I think it's going back to reverse from neutral.
