Here a couple shots of the exhaust system. Ill be adding the tips once its installed on the car. I want the best alignment possible with the new rear aero bumper.
A little more work to the hood also today. Its been awhile since ive done body work and its taking a bit to come back to me LOL.
I ordered a car cover for the other clubman i have sitting outdoors. I couldn't believe how small they vacuumed that thing down. I think ive found the reason why it wont turn over. There was an inch of ice on the passenger floor 🙄. Looks like footwell module flooded damb!!!

Slowly getting more done on the car. The new aero kit has been painted sparkling silver and the hood vent and fenders Mini jet black. I decided to paint the fenders after wrapping one in high glass black. I really like the mini jet black and the wrap just seemed to scratch easily. I've also got the main part of the exhaust installed. I just need to have the bumper on to weld up the tips for alignment. I've got a new trailer hitch put on it also to pull my small boat to the cottage. Lastly I've taken the headlights apart and painted them jet black and installed green halos inside the projector lenses.
Cant see the halo. Im a little concerned about the heat of the headlight affecting to LEDs.
Starting point
Finished bumper
Hood vents
New black side markers.

I'm just having fun with this car. The scoop is meant to be over the top LOL. It will house the engine oil cooler with the heated air directed out the rear hood vent. Im retired now and like messing with cars. I've got several other old cars from the 60s and 70s. I wanted one that was like a gokart that also had some semblance of fuel mileage.

Im using 7507 Canbus LED bulb from "Inertia LED" but lately they haven't been responding to my emails for further products so.. however I know the maker "Alla Lighting" makes Canbus Amber LED 7507 bulb (py21w AKA baus15s) that I will be getting in a different version (red) for my rear turn signals. Supposed to be super bright! Inertia's are the ones you see on my build thread.

Getting the rims ready to paint 668 jet black. They were previously painted with plastidip. I dont reccomend that stuff if you want to remove it in the future. It did look good though. The over spray on the back of the rims had to be removed with thinners. I also had to get one welded as it had a crack in the lip. It is quite the ordeal to prep for paint but they will look great when done. Here they are in primer.

I finally had time to finish up the wheels today. What a pain to do these wheels or any wheels for that matter. I probably have 25 hours into them at a minimum. They did turn out great though with just a bit of dust in a couple of them and two small runs in the clear coat. I happy with them and the mini jet black.

I was able to button up a few things in the last week and got to actually fire this thing up for the first time in 5 months. I've never had it running as it had a bad timing chain when I got it. I turned it over with no fuel to get oil pumping first. After one stumble it fired and ran real nice. I am getting a bit of smoke when I get on it but I did have a lot of oil in the cylinders so it wouldn't be turning over dry.
It seemed to be a little short on pep when tapping the throttle and I was worried the timing was off just a tad. A few hours later I remembered that I had an electric vacuum pump and it isnt hooked up yet. So I had no boost. I will be hooking up the vacuum pump tomorrow and give her another go.
It was a relief to fire it up though as it's been a long five months and a lot of rebuilding not knowing it it would run at all.

Fixed a few bugs that poped up after starting it for the first time. No engine light on but I think a few things are in standby until it's driven for a bit. I've got the front bumper cover on it was a pain in the ****. I had to do some trimming of the inside grill and lower rad mounts to get th eBay inter cooler to fit. I'm still coming up short for the bottom plugs. Looks great though.

Well that hood and scoop are gone. Unfortunately it needed so much adjustment, because it was a non S hood and had previous accident repair, I just threw in the towel with it. When I finally got it to sit down with much hammer work then the headlight holes were off a bit. I put the original hood on and will move the vents over to it. Not really happy but I'm over it. I now need to refigure on this oil cooler that was going to be mounted in the scoop. I have a smaller cooler on order and it will either be mounted behind the factory scoop or the top of the engine in the scoops airflow. Meanwhile my green eye headlights look fantastic and super happy with how they turned out.
