New 2009 Clubman S Owner

I’m back! In 2008 we bought an S new. Sold that after about 3 years to get an SUV. Now our daughter needed a first car and the Mini option was used. Bought a 50K mile 2009 Clubman S from the original owner. He used dealer service for the most part and did the right things to keep the Mini in good shape. Full timing chain replacement with Vanos solenoid at 39K miles. No water pump or vacuum pump that I can see in the records, so those might be coming. The Clubman is Pepper White and Rooster Red - car was customized a fair bit with full blackout and Roto wheels with 205’s (non-run flat with a spare).

Two issues are the key batteries are dead, and it’s not comfort access so surgery will be needed - I’m taking that on this week, The other is the third door will not open unless the lower sensor is pulled out to tighten the cable. I think I will open the door up first and see where the issue is (stretched cable?) before ordering parts for that.

Congratulations, again Can't wait to see what and how you fix it up.

Congrats that's a good low mileage find. I love my R55 and know you'll find it to be great.

Thanks - I already ordered a few small items from your place to keep it running well. When the timing chain was done at 38K miles they did a walnut shell blast. But I don’t see the valve cover being replaced by something with less potential to crust everything up again. So that may be on the short list of PM items.
