New To Mini's
About to make a purchase next Saturday, maybe... 2013 Mini Cooper Clubman S 60k miles in excellent condition. I was gonna pull the trigger today however dealer called me and said there was an issue when moving it to detail prior to me coming to see it.
He said "the battery seemed low when I fired it up to have it washed and ready to go. I had them put a new battery in and the headlight started going crazy flickering on and off. The techs looked into this and its a recall for the foot well module. So its at the Mini Cooper dealership locally getting fixed Monday."
For any Mini experts out there, I have some concerns and questions if anyone can lend some advice. I immediately began googling issues with mini coopers and I see now that maybe issues unfold with this things?
1. Should I be concerned or is this a red flag with this recall?
2. Whats a good price, assuming the recall gets sorted out, for a 2013 Mini Cooper Clubman S 60k miles automatic in excellent condition?
3. Are these car reliable or prone to issues?
To be clear, this is for my wife primarily. We took a 2017 for a test drive the other day and I really liked it. However, I'm not trying to create headaches for myself with unreliability and huge expenses due to repairs.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

as with anything, you'll find people on both sides of the fence. 2013 minis have the redesigned N18 engine high pressure fuel pump which is a huge plus. the other components are still shared with previous versions of the engine and even the base model like water pump and pipe and oil filter housing. It is good to ask them about what services have been performed and if there is a warranty and what it covers. The only thing you HAVE to keep an eye on is the oil. it needs to be changed at most every 4500-5k miles and it needs to be checked at least once every 2 weeks to see if the car burns oil or not. ask about the timing chain, water pump, thermostat and oil pump, too.
