Only starts in neutral once engine is warm ;-)
It’s a 2011 clubman, R55. Replaced water pump, tube, thermostat housing and recommended electrical harness designed for new housing design. Repairs solved leakage problems, but created issues with fan run on and inability to start engine in park after it’s been running for a short time. (It will start right away if I put it in nuetral) I’ve bled and re-bled the water coolant system, disconnected and reconnected the new wires, I have even tried a new harness, nothing has solve the issue. I’ve used all OEM parts and fluidS. It does throw a code indicating a thermostat problem, I am thinking the worst, that my new thermostat is defective. Anything else I should try before I go through the thrill of buying and installing another thermostat housing unit? Other than the above, it runs great, just getting ready to sell it and don’t want to have to explain all this to a new buyer :-). Any help appreciated.
