SOLVED - "empty" 2-pin connector

Update: Better picture of the 2 pin connector.

I was able to get some help from MiniMania. This connector was "obsoleted" by the introduction of an updated thermostat housing. I had the thermostat replaced recently, which is why the connector is (a) so clean, and (b) empty.

First post on this forum. If this is in the wrong place, I apologize.

2013 Clubman Cooper S. Beneath the air duct which runs from the MAF to the turbo, there is a 2-pin connector which is empty. But it is so clean, I don't think "empty" is the correct configuration. I have not been able to find any information about this connector, so I am kind of at a loss.

Couple of pics attached. One is the connector. The other pic provides a sense of where the connector is located.

A P0171 code is what got me looking. My first find was the air duct was cracked; I did a temporary repair on the duct, while waiting to receive a new one. But the fault code is still there, even after clearing.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
