How to tell if car is tuned or not?
Hello everyone, I just got a 09 Clubman S JW. It has a cold air intake and catless downpipe. The rear 02 has an extender on it. This makes me think it is not tuned? Coming from the Benz world, tuners can turn off the rear 02s so they don't set a code. Is it the same for Mini? How can I verify or not if it is tuned?
Thanks , enjoying the car so far.

If you plug in a generic OBD reader, you can do a quick emissions readiness check. If the O2 sensor is "pending", the car likely has a tune. Or, if you have a boost gauge, you can check to see what boost pressure the car runs... I "think" factory JCW is 15-18 psi. If you are over 20, the car is likely to have a tune.
Failing all that, get in touch with @Lou@Prototype-R . He can help you run a data log on the car and likely tell you right away if its stock or not.

So using a wifi OBD adaptor and app, I can see it is max around 20psi of boost, if this is accurate. So it seems tuned. By who? Who knows. I just ordered a wideband so I can see the fuel/air ratio to make sure I'm safe. May get a new tune anyhow in the future. I'm surprised on the price for tunes, these are more expensive than many Benz tunes that have been around forever. Looks like Prototype R is popular?
