That "photo" of the yellow one has previously been convincingly dismissed as a photoshop job.

I wasn't bashing the PTC - just saying how it took a very unique style and blended it with something else unique to come up with a product that doesn't have the appealing "stand on it's own" look.

If it's better, we can say it had a tryst with a Chevy HHR.

I have a PT and although it's been a wonderful vehicle (thus far) I would love the Mini but I would have to give up that functionality. The EXT is the best of both worlds for me!

Hate is such a distasteful word.

How about "dislike" or "do not find appealing"?

If porsche can make a 4-door why not mini? I wouldnt mind having one of these if I were in the market for a high end four door

Since even vaunted sports car vendors such as Porsche, or Luxary performance car vendors such as Lexus and BMW, have SUVs, why wouldn't MINI ... if for nothing else to be fiscally responsible to its stock holders ... or whoever owns the company.

Why would anyone consider a MINI suv such a shock? Doesn't MINI, as part of BMW, have fiscal responsibilities in the current market? Or are they just supposed to produce "cute" little itty bitty mini cars? I would imagine they need a range of cars to remain competitive.

No offense taken...I was just "busting your chops". That Estate Wagon would certainly grab my interest though!

it wouldn't be a shock, more like a disappointment.

sure they have fiscal responsibilities, but they still should stay true their core. MINI especially has a cult following which will be disrupted by such a move. Even BMW knows how to stay true, their claim is the whole driving experience. Along with that, they make sure all their vehicles are rear wheel drive or all wheel drive.

MINI needs to stick to its core of being being efficient spacewise. I honestly don't think there is any way they can go do that with an SAV and as I have said before, I plan to be a lifetime MINI owner as of now, but if they ever do SAV, I would not get another one. Of course, I still plan on getting a classic.

Which is why I posted earlier in this thread that it looks like a Hot Wheels toy!

I agree with those that don't like it. To me, the whole point of a MINI is its small size.

I think you will find a wide variety of opinion on why people "like" their MINIs. In fact, I'm sure there is a thread on this and it ranged from "easy to mod" to "good mpg" and yes "cute" meaning small was high on the list. However, why can't they build a small soft roader? It might gain some weight so they just add more HP. It doesn't have to be "space ineffecient"

Soft roading MINIs are coming ... its just a matter of time to be competive. It will be "efficient with space" but it will also be a SUV (a rose by any other name is ...)
