R55 2008 MINI "Clubman" EXT
#27
I wasn't bashing the PTC - just saying how it took a very unique style and blended it with something else unique to come up with a product that doesn't have the appealing "stand on it's own" look.
If it's better, we can say it had a tryst with a Chevy HHR.

I have a PT and although it's been a wonderful vehicle (thus far) I would love the Mini but I would have to give up that functionality. The EXT is the best of both worlds for me!

Since even vaunted sports car vendors such as Porsche, or Luxary performance car vendors such as Lexus and BMW, have SUVs, why wouldn't MINI ... if for nothing else to be fiscally responsible to its stock holders ... or whoever owns the company.
Why would anyone consider a MINI suv such a shock? Doesn't MINI, as part of BMW, have fiscal responsibilities in the current market? Or are they just supposed to produce "cute" little itty bitty mini cars? I would imagine they need a range of cars to remain competitive.

sure they have fiscal responsibilities, but they still should stay true their core. MINI especially has a cult following which will be disrupted by such a move. Even BMW knows how to stay true, their claim is the whole driving experience. Along with that, they make sure all their vehicles are rear wheel drive or all wheel drive.
MINI needs to stick to its core of being being efficient spacewise. I honestly don't think there is any way they can go do that with an SAV and as I have said before, I plan to be a lifetime MINI owner as of now, but if they ever do SAV, I would not get another one. Of course, I still plan on getting a classic.

Soft roading MINIs are coming ... its just a matter of time to be competive. It will be "efficient with space" but it will also be a SUV (a rose by any other name is ...)
