If MINI did this Traveler they would sell a ton.

IMO this concept of the mini Traveler would sell like gang busters. It has so much appeal.

Fortunately, a ton would be less than one of them.

First post mentions "concept". I think it's an early artistic rendering. Doesn't look real.

Those single-side suicide doors are really giving the Brits fits. Can you imagine having to load/unload kids on the wrong side-where the traffic is-rather than the off-side?

Oh, it's real alright!!! I love the front end! Several were made, each with a slightly different theme/color scheme.

There could be real versions, but the lighting and shadows around the parts, the way smaller things are laying about just don't look real. The way the glass reflects looks funky.

Oh god, I hope that's not seeing production anytime soon, it's uglier than sin and more awkward than an episode of The Office. Kill it now!

Mini's Traveller concept, inspired by Mini's extended-wheelbase 1960 model, returned for the Geneva Motor Show. So far, the Traveller has appeared at the Frankfurt, Tokyo and Detroit auto shows, accessorized with everything from picnic sets (Tokyo) to skis (Detroit). At the Geneva show, Mini says the concept is geared toward rally racing and extra utility.

...from the top right and continuing clockwise, the Frankfurt concept, the Geneva concept, the Tokyo concept, and the Detroit concept with the blue accents...these are merely show concepts.

I kinda like 'em...which is good because we'll see some elements (in modified form) when the Clubman comes out. I do like how the driving lights are integrated into the grill.

Good god that's ugly. The Frankfurt version is the only tolerable one. Needs dual suicide doors like RX8 though.

Wow, seeing that makes me really appreciate the (re)work that MINI put into the front end of the production R56. It looks SOOOO much better than the nose on those concepts.

Is it just me, or do the noses of these concepts look kinda like the Porsche Cayenne SUV?

Yeah, I don't dig the tire on the roof, but I do like the Frankfurt and Detroit models. They're okay. The white interior is, of course, ridiculous...

Actually getting the tire off the roof isn't really any harder than getting from other places. Many rally cars are set up that way.

If you get run-flats, do they put a pool safety tube there instead?

Wow, i'm feeling like the minority here... But i quite like the design. Not a fan of the spare on the roof however...seems to me that there would be enough trunk space for a space saver spare back there. But the design is far better than that of what the real traveler will be.

Well, at least this one has daisy wheels instead of the cheese grater wheels on the other concepts.

I'm with you, saakey...seems a little imagination is required!!!!

The spare on the roof deal was done because that particular concept intentionally took cues off a classic Mini rally car...therefore the roof-mounted wheel makes perfect sense. What's funny is how some of the R56 design elements shocked and suprised so many...yet they are clearly hinted at in these concept cars. Should not have seemed such a shock, imo.

I love em... the lines are awsome... colors and whieels... meh.. but I can see where this could go.... as for the tire comeing "down" from the roof... the design isn't much taller than our current MINIs so getting the tire off would be quite easy... and for me would beat crawling around on the ground trying to pull it out from under the car...
