R56 first impression...

Thanks. I am on the East Coast so I hear the wait times are not quite as bad as some other areas. Hoping I will have by mid summer. I did look at the rolling mechanism for the Scion last night when I got home and seems like it will be pretty easy to remove, but not sure about adapting it to the mini. Not sure if the sunroofs are the same size either. One of my friends has a mini and I will check it out on his when I can, but he is back home in Ireland at the moment.

Weak A/C
My 2003 MC has fairly anemic A/C, and I expect my 2007 MCS will have the same. It is a small car with a small engine, so I am not surprised. At least it is better than my first VW.
What I have learned to do is use the "auto" mode (assuming you have it) because it runs in max mode most of the time. Of course, you could do the same manually.
Of course, since I live in northern california, its not as important to have great a/c as in some other places. Most of the time I want the windows and sunroof open.

It makes a huge difference to open the sunroof in the vent position to draw off the heat for the first few minutes. At least that's what I've found in the fairly anemic heat we've so far encountered--just barely 90 degrees. I suspect another couple of weeks will prove this right.
Gee, I love summer in Houston!
