Ugh, disaster- where can I find a 2007 MCS rear bumper?

Hate for my first post here to be about this topic, but I have no one else to turn to! But yeah, i got a new 2007 MCS recently with only about 700 miles on it so far. A horrible thing happened, I dont want to go into details, but one thing led to another and my rear bumper is totaled. Lets just say it involves a family member so we both want to limit the cost and keep insurance out. Theres absolutely no structual damage to speak of; I've shown it to countless people and they say its as simple as snapping a new bumper back on, so its a do-it-yourself job. Does anyone know where I can get an OEM rear bumper? Finding them online for the 2007 model is tough. If I go to a dealer, would they be able to provide one? And how much should I expect it to cost?

And just for kicks, wheres a good place for an after market one.....

My first recommendation would be to contact Classic MINI located in Mentor, OH.

They give great discounts and are a vendor here on NAM.

Good luck!

I would call my dealer, they can probably just order you one.

Check out realoem.com for a list of all the parts that you would need and talk to your dealer about ordering. Call a few to try and get the best price.

I would chat with www.morristownmini.com, as they offer a 20% discount on all MINI parts. Why pay full dealer retail if you don't have to.

As for aftermarket parts, there may already be a bumper from a tuner, like Schnitzer, but it would be more than the stock one. There aren't any real (read cheap) aftermarket parts for new MINIs yet.

The dealer may have some left over from an aero package job.

thanks for all the help guys, looks like im simply gonna go through my dealer. A stock bumper costs about $336 while a bumper from the AERO kit costs about $360. Do you guys think the AERO bumper would look out of place on an otherwise stock 2007 MCS? I was thinking about getting that and slowly adding on the rest of the AERO bodykit as i get the cash.

For my $0.02, go whole hog are stay at home. Partial mod is gonna look extra odd.
Hey, sorry you got a bobo on the ride. Hope that was the one and only!
