Just drove 2975 miles and at least 30% was at night. My tinting of the speedo and tach worked great for the night driving but was not so good for daylight when glare hit the gauge faces.
There has to be a way to turn down the dash lighting to almost zero.
The mood lighting for me is set to match the speedo/tach colors for the uniformity factor.
I had it set to orange to match the rest of the vehicle. My wife keeps changing it to cycling. So I gave up, and now it is cycling. I suspect that eventually she will set it to purple.
Blue for me. I have a 2010 MCS and live in a big city so the ambient light isn't too noticeable due to all of the street lights :( i wish i could make it brighter. The new minis get more colors and different levels of brightness I'm jealous.
You can hold the toggle and it'll fade between all the colors, at which point when you let go, it'll stop. So you can have a blue/purple mix, more neon looking, or a purple pink look, etc.
I usually rock the blue!!!! But on "date night" with my wife I may switch it up to red or the purpleiey colors to set the mood! I switch it up about once a week on my ride into working during the early hours
FLYERS orange of course....
Usually it is in the switching mode....sometimes it is distracting, but it looks cool from outside with the switching color.
