Park Distance Control. When I ordered my car, I ridiculed this option as completely unnecessary in a car this size. However, I am very used to using it on my Expedition. I would definitely like to have it now simply because I relied on the "sonar" to tell me when to stop while driving the Expedition. A very tight, over-crowded parking lot, with very narrow spaces, I encountered at the campground this past weekend, would have made PDC a very welcome tool.

In fact, I am considering mounting a rear view camera on my hatch, either under the wing or by the license plate. Has anyone done this? If so, do you have a recommendation?

I'm very happy with my choices but I did want the audio package. The funny thing is, I waited 4-5 years for my daughters to finish college so I could order a MINI and I couldn't wait the extra 4-5 months for the audio package.

Oh, I also wish I would have grabbed the rear fogs :( For only $100, it wouldn't even have been noticeable.

I would have ordered the BLUETOOTH- I was ready to order the Convenience Pack (which includes: auto dim mirror; rain sense wippers; Keyless go; arm rest; Universal gar door opener; and Universal Mobil Phone prep), however my MA told me that the Universal Mobil Phone prep was NOT bluetooth, so I dropped the package and add most of the other componets individually. The bluetooth is not an option that can be added later - ) I tried using my Garmin Nuvi 360 for that but it does not sound good.) With that said I would get the bluetooth / Universal Mobil Phone prep. (I'm sorry that I didn't).

you may also want to consider the iPod integration when ordering, as it is way too expensive to add afterwards....

I guess I would've like to have seen an English Oak trimmed dash/door panel set up just to make sure, seeing my car is traditional BRG/W that would've looked nice IMO, but its ok as the checkered pieces fill the bill nicely One other thing I should've atleast check into as far as how much more my payment would've been was black Lounge leather. Although the leatherette looks/feels GREAT there's just something about real leather, the smell, the feel and maintence...yes I said maintence. I detail cars on the side and because of the quality leather products I use (Griots and Leather Masters) its a snap to keep it up and the smell, oh the smell That being said, I LOVE MY CAR!!!

I was excited about the English Oak option, but when I saw it in the showroom it did not live up to my expectations. To me, it looked more like plastic than wood. I opted against it. I got piano black instead, which I have not seen in person. I won't be taking delivery until later this week/early next week. Perhaps I won't be any happier with this option than the English Oak. We'll see.

I would have liked a grey leather seating option as I prefer a lighter colored interior. Other than that, I'm happy with what I ordered.

Question...

So how many of these options can be added at my local dealership? Or much they all be configured in at the factory?

Can't my MINI service department just charge me and stick in the anthracite headliner?

We were going to order one but bought off the lot instead. The car came with a couple things I wouldn't have ordered and in retrospect I could still do without them. These include: sunroof (noisy; sun beats through sunhade -- waste of money) and auto wipers/headlights (big deal). I should have gotten fogs and alternate basic wheels.

I bought MCS CR/W with stripes and all through the waiting period thought about CR/B with the black stripes. Love my car, but kinda wonder. White is friendlier, for lack of a better term, but the black would have been sportier. Probably wouldn't have sprung for the heated seats. Might use them three or four times a year. Paid for Bluetooth but don't know if it was worth it. Upgrading my phone tomorrow, so time will tell. Still, I look for reasons to run errands and take the longest route possible. It's amazing how many times I "need" to take the freeway just so I can punch it and have to slow down when I merge with the traffic after the on-ramp.

And because you have navigation, you would have had a warning graphic come up on your nav screen. I haven't begun to trust it enough to not look behind me, but it's very accurate.
