vinyl sticker help

ok so i found this neat place to get special order vinyl lettering stickers and ordered one without thinkin... i got 'GEMINI' in the BadAcid font... however, i was thinkin bout puttin it on my back glass, at the top, in the middle... forgot about that whole wiper thing back there... once i put the sticker on, will the wiper kicks it butt? or will it just glide over it like it does most of the dirt that accumulates back there?

My lettering is 3 inches high and the wiper has not bothered it yet. Don't use it much in SoCal though. Many of the MINI owners here remove the wiper arm and some the whole mechanism.

I want to replace the rear wiper arm with a large toy key, like the old metal wind up cars.

If you use your rear wiper a lot to remove dirt and soot, then it probably won't last too long. I rarely use my rear wiper, but I also don't encounter extreme weather changes.

That would be good. You'd have to run it all the time. Keep the wiper arm so you can put it back when you take it in for service. They will probably wonder how you could keep wearing out the wiper assembly in California.

Another idea would be to put a red flag on it for tailgaters.

As far as letters and wipers, I have no real experience. So, my opinion would not be worth much. However, thinking about that vinyl edge and the wiper would bug me. So, I'd put the lettering out of range.

Just a thought. You could have the vinyl lettering made up so that it could be installed inside the window. I don't know about effect of heated window gridlines on vinyl though. My vinyl guy, John Soulsby at Mentor Signs, e-mail: info@mentorsigns.com has done great custom work for me at reasonable prices, and I'm sure he can do the same for you.

thank you all as always... they sent me two for one so I think imma try it and if it messes it up, I have a replacement... if they hold up, I'll let u all know... their webby addy is www.directdecals.com my lettering is 2 inches as well... The price for one after shipping with 6 letters was $13.27 and I got in like a week...

if they don't hold up i'll order inside stickers like mike suggested... i wasn't even thinking when i ordered or i would have ordered that way to begin with... i was delirious and it was like 3am...

Doesn't that interfere with your rear view through the mirror?

has anyone got the decal for the top front windshield. the ones that say cooper or cooper s.. i got that and i use my wipers whenever it rains and i have no problem with the letters.. i also have letters on my rear window but i dont use the wiper there so i couldnt tell ya. but its not because i dont want to damage the decal. i dont use the wipers because so much dirt and crap accumulates there that i dont want to scratch my window!! plus the wiper collects alot of dirt when in the resting position. i need to remove the whole wiper!! just dont have time
