Interesting exhaust sounds

I have had my R56 MCS for over 4k miles now and can't imagine being in any other car at this point. It's so much fun to drive.

After I passed 3500 miles I noticed that when shifting gears under regular driving conditions, I have been hearing a noticeable backfire between shifts. It only really happens when not revving up too far, mostly lower revs (starting out in the morning, leisurely driving etc). It's kinda cool when it happens and not really complaining about it at all.

Has anyone else noticed any backfire from their exhaust? Is it more typical with a FI engine?

Just wondering.

My car does this too. Noticable when I am standing behind it and a friend blips the throttle. It's a turbo burble, kind of like the supercharger burble but not quite as noticable or as loud. It's good though.

Hey, You guys, I got a MCa and I get a "Mini Burble" when I kick it in the a$$ and then decellerate.

My wife has an R56 MCa and I have not heard any rumble/burble from her car yet.

Hmmm maybe she is not getting on the gas like you do. lol

Also with the windows down I can hear the blow off whistle sound inside the intake piping when changing gears. It has got a bit more noticable recently. Interesting.

I've begun to hear this 'turbo burble' as well as the exhaust note in general become "beefy" lately. Around 1300 miles or so. I would surmise that the exhaust system is settling in. I like it. The backfire, well, its more of a Mini Fart. heh heh.
