Newly delivered w/photos ;)
Picked up my car from South Bay MINI yesterday (12th).
After a 600 mile first day (LA to Tucson) I've gotta say I love the car. I have figured out that I've gotten old though . I'm satisfied with the speed and performance and am even quite thrilled with the sound system.
My generation (70's teenager) did not have the bass and even the option of a first rate sound system so by comparison of what I grew up with... The MINI sound system is awesome.
I love the ride, even with run flats and sport suspension. It feels wonderful to me. I have no issues with the strange (ala quirky) controls. I just keep the manual handy and figure it out. After that it's not a big deal.
I could have gotten a faster car (Mazda speed 3) but the MINI just captures a feeling... Being able to create just the one I wanted, the go cart feel, the mood lighting at night etc. I'm very satisfied

I do have one concern (not really a regret)... It seems white rims and black brake dust are contrasting. I shoulda figured that one out.

get special cleaner to get the brake dust off
i would recomend s100, best stuff i ever used. its actually marketed towards harley davidson bikes, and you can get it at any harley shop. it does the job wonderfuly. if you leave the brake dust on it will soon eat away at the finish and paint......bad...haha

Looking very good.
Love your combination and envy the fact you already have a 600 mile trip on your MINI. Yeah brake dust shows on the webbies too. Mine are the soft silver color and I noticed after the 70 mile run up to my house that a bit of brake dust was gathering. I will have to ask my Harley buddies if they use S100 as mentioned.
Enjoy the MINI, I did offer to drive it for you while your out of the country for a few. Offer is still open

Nice car. I have the exact same interior (SS/B exterior). Yeah, the white wheels will take some attention, but spray cleaner will do it with no rubbing with high pressure rinse. Enjoy Tucson, it's a great city. I spent 7 years in college there. For a great classic Tucson bar with 100's of obscure imports try The Shanty on 4th Ave and 9th St. Same owner family since the 30's. I used to work there. For classic Tucson Mexican try Mi Nidito on south 4th Ave (way south of downtown, Jimmy Carter ate there). For Cajun try Nonie's on Grant Road. And if you haven't had a lemon Egee you've missed a Tucson classic. There are stores all over. Established in the 70's when I was there it's the best frozen drink ever. If you play golf Ventana Canyon is the place to play in the summer. There's also a public hiking trailhead near the hotel entrance that goes up a cool canyon and hardly anyone goes there, you don't have to park at the hotel, just at the trailhead. Awesome views and lots of Upper Sonoran desert vegetation. Lots more private than the overused/overhyped Sabino Canyon (which is OK). And take a drive up to Mt. Lemmon to have lunch in Summerlin at almost 7000 feet. You gotta drive the Mini up there. We could ski there in the morning and play golf in the afternoon. A day trip to Tombstone or Sierra Vista would be good too. Go for it!
