Tail pipes on new MCS with 4000 miles have alot of black carbon on them. Normal?

i have 5000 kms and I have the same. I use premium Petro-canada gas.

I can't really speak for the 07s, but the previous generation also has a lot of soot buildup on the exhaust because it runs rich, which keeps cylinder temps lower and prevents detonation, I believe. It's a bit of extra insurance on a forced induction car, but not totally necessary. The soot'll just wash off with a bit of soap and water, usually with no scrubbing required.

Try 98 octane clears it right up.

The black stuff itself does not bother me, i just wanted to make sure others here have the same thing.

I know how we can get rid of it, Crack the ECU, up the boost, add more HP=Less soot to come out tailpipe...lol
