See, my current one is an 02 CR/W; and when I bought it, my second choice was going to be the LY/B. But I just liked the chili red better (and apparently, so did everyone else, considering how popular that color choice was.) When the MY came out, I loved it much more than I did the LY. So, when I decided I was getting an R56, it was a no-brainer.
You'll only doubt whether MY is the right color for you until you see it in person. Once you see it in person, you will never look back. I remember deliberating over MY and Laser Blue. I started threads about it and was stressed like you. I just trusted my gut which said MY.
MY was not the color I was going to pick originally. I was liking the LB, but I kept going back to the MY in the configurator and when I compared the MY to LY I loved it. Then my final decision was seeing a dirty MY and I could barely tell that it was dirty, compared to the other colors.
When I first set eyes on mine at the dealership I was in awe of how fabulous it looked. I knew that I made the right choice. Everyone I've talked to says how cool my color is (and how bland some of the other colors they've seen are in comparison - I'm not naming colors though ) and how good I look in it. How can one complain about that? LOL
I get a huge grin on my face every time I see my Mini and would pick MY again without a doubt.
I wish Mellow Yellow was more like my yellow Beetle. I think there was a lighter yellow MINI in years gone by. Of course, I still like MY though.
Liquid Yellow. for the previous generation MINIs.
Liquid Yellow was a fairly close match to BMW Dakar Yellow II. I also own a Dakar Yellow M Coupe and it would have been a pretty cool sight with both cars in the garage. At last, I wasn't able to order one in time but I am very happy with my MY MCS sitting next to my Dakar Yellow M Coupe
Its awesome our MINIs look so great in yellow. It is def a special color for special cars. My friend had an chevy beretta indy pace car and we teased him . . .hmmmm. . .up until this day. However, my MY MINI is a big hit and all my friends think it looks cool. Especially, after taking them for a drive.

I agree with the drive sealing the deal
3 out of 4 friends are now considering the MINI after driving mine briefly. They all had similar comments, feels like a bigger engine than 1.6L
That is also what I'm planning on doing. I'm tired of the little green chips on my hood from the highway crap. I was just wondering whether the edges of the clear bra would get stained with dirt and so forth.

the place I'm getting it done wraps around the edges so the edge wont be visible from the outside. of course it is also costing me a small fortune but it was recommended from one of the NAMer
Just curious if any fellow MY owners have put on the clear bra on their cars. if so, how does it look? Does dirt affect the edges much?
My car turned one this week and I had a clear bra installed a couple of weeks later. I've been very happy with it. There's a little dirt along the seems but it's not bad.
