MINIspud

Four reasons I picked Mellow Yellow
  1. The MINI cooper is a unique car which stands out, so I want to stand out just a little more.
  2. I will be able to find my car easily in the parking lot!
  3. It makes me happy and even reminds me of a smiley face.
  4. I've wanted a yellow car for a long time!
I also like the idea that it will be more visible on the road, but that wasn't even a consideration in choosing it.

I say, let 'em cringe. They don't need to love our cars, we do!

Our first test drive was in a MY. If we had ordered a car we probably would have got BRG, but while we were out at lunch deciding what to do the one we test drove sold.... After shuffling some papers they reaized they had another one configured exactly how we wanted which turned out to be MY as well. It didn't take long to decide we liked the MY better anyway!! It looks good next to my winning blue Mazda3 -- I'll post a pic sometime.

Joining the club in 8-10 weeks

Hi all,

I signed off on my order this evening, should be here in 8-10 weeks. I did go Mellow Yellow body/roof with no sunroof or stripes. It will be VERY YELLOW. I'm very excited!

I have to work on my sig but basically it is MCa MY/MY Tuscan beige interior with cold weather and convenience packages.

To answer the question, why did I pick mellow yellow? I'm pretty good at explaining it by now:

- I love the color
- It's unusual
- It doesn't show pollen as quickly
- It's more visible in traffic
- Easier to find in a huge parking garage
- $0 since it is nonmetallic
- I love the color

I've noticed it does hide a light splash of mud here and there rather well.

MY owners opinion?

I ordered a MY MC. I want to replace the std 15" wheels with something else. Right now 16" Rota RB or panasports are the leading candidates. I'm not sure on the color yet, black, silver or gunmetal. Also, I've created a couple of photoshop ideas for rocker stripes. Which stripes do you think look best? What color wheels would you go with? I borrowed a fellow members MCS to photoshop...full size photos are in my gallery.

A) Ford GT style

B) Porsche GT3 RS style

C) looks best to me..

Perhaps even flatten the black a little to match the factory black inserts. (Like the B)

Nix the chrome gas cover though

Are the factory bonnet stripes Flat black or Gloss black? I haven't paid much attention when I was at the dealer. I'd probably try to have a similar finish. semi flat black?? Yeah, the chrome gas cap was something I missed on that version..
Tally
A=4 B=0 C=2

Alright Mellow Yellow experts gonna order my mini in july, and pretty much have my heart set on MY.

So the other day was drivin along and TA DA MY mini zooms by right in front of me!! I screamed and started smacking my dad saying "Thats it!! Thats it! Thats the color i want!!"

Ok so as i get control of my hysteria i start thinking, man it really looked kind of like a mustard yellow, which isnt bad or anything, but idk didnt really like it. It was very cloudy that day as it was about to rain so thats what i told myslef. So as have never seeing the cat in the sun, cant say i know what it really looks like.

So my question for you guys is.... Is it more of a mustard yellow?? I like MY more then LY for sure but im kinda perplexed. Alright sorry for the long post maybe you guys can help me out.

Definately more towards French mustard than lemonade, but not 'grey poupon' at all.

You really need to find a dealer with a good stock to see (or better yet would be a MINI 'Meet')

Online views and photos don't do the color justice at all.

I was all set to order blue, until I saw the MY in the sunshine.

PW is another sleeper, until seen 'for real' but much more subdued than MY.

Thanks for the compliments. Just a few more things to do (black JCW grill & trim, factory mud flaps, and black out rest of the chrome) and he'll be all done......................for now!

A wins but needs a Red S I think, maybe not? Maybe it would be too much?

My Mini

Afer washing claying polishing and waxing afew days ago, I took some photos lastnight in a parking garage. Thought the setting was right with the yellow in the background. I edited the photo a little to give it some character. Mellow Yellow Rules
