It has to be listed somewhere. I would like to know how many 09 MY JCW were produced.

I really like knowing I own one of 254 black 92 240sx convertibles built. It's a really fun drop top for TX
I also owned one of 79 red AWD turbo Laser RS's built in 92
not the same if you own one of 20,000 built....rare is sweet

Tinted the head/tail/rear fog/driving lights with Lamin-X and tried blacking out the head/tail trims with plasti-dip. Proud of the film/tint job but I will have to
re-do the plasti-dip again.

Thanks. Wasn't tough to do. I actually over sprayed so it didnt come out as even as I would like but the good thing is you can always take it off.

Thanks! I actually like the body color roof and I was thinking about taking the stripes off for a cleaner look. That's what I love about MINIs...you don't ever get stuck with the same look even with just minor changes!

BTW I'm liking the yellow on your wheels and the yellow mirror caps!

Hello and welcome.
Yes MINI's are great to alter, I have added Challenge decals and am in the process of adding the JCW aero lower sills - I will post pics when complete!

MiniBol...what are your plans for the gas cap, door handles and the headlight washer covers? Headlight washer covers come off and plastidip very easy.

Also, any details and closeups of your exhaust?

I'm planning on getting the CF gas cap. eBay had some CF door handles from Taiwan but they don't have the ones for the comfort access yet so I'll wait. Quality isn't bad and you can't beat the price. I've seen them on another MINI.

Do you know how to take off the washer? I didn't know you could. I was thinking of wrapping a set and getting another set painted body color by Orangecrush for the rings.

I have an ALTA stealth exhaust.

Hey thanks. Matching roofs are a little harder to find. The stripes do set it off. Adds a lot of attitude.

I'm still happy that I chose mellow yellow over the other choices. Especially with it not being available any more. It hides dirt really well too.

By coincedence, I just saw a MY Clubman driving through Point Loma yesterday. It was even all-MY, an exact sibling to my car. Too bad I was on the freeway overpass and it was on a surface street, no chance to see my energetic wave.

Hey, MINOBol, hopefully we'll see you at a SCMM event soon.

Does anyone know how rare MY is for MINIs - what the production runs were? I hardly ever see them except perhaps one at large club rides. I have yet to see one around DC.... In fact here in DC Metro I've just seen one up in Maryland who is part of the Central Maryland MINI Motorists club! Actually love the fact MY seems so unique and Cary gets complimented so often for the color.... Just such a "happy" color!

In trying to find out the MYs number made. I emailed and called Mini USA. I was told in the email that they could not give out the info!
Not accepting that, I called the customer service. I was on hold for a while, but the person was nice. She told me that info was not available to her. So, I have not given up on my quest. I will post again soon!

Ok here goes. I talked with:
MINI UK Oxford Plant
Stacey Owen
Customer Information Executive
He told me that he could not find exact number. He did find out that because it was a very limited color, less than 1% of all the R56s that were made during the 3 year were MYs. JCWs were about .4%. This is the best I can do at this time. He said that he would send more info if he can find it.

WOW! <1%??!! No wonder I hardly ever see them. Great research!!! Didn't expect an Oxford call - now that's dedication! Now we all know just how special our MYs really are! That really is amazing. I didn't remotely think it was that rare a color.

Unfortunately some unknown horse's **** dinged my rear driver side quarter panel in a parking lot! It's clearly a door ding, but it was a really hard one because it left a vertical dent and paint in it!! I hate how rude people are... Would be so nice to be able to find them, follow them home, and take a sledge hammer to whatever they like most to see just how they like it (as it's clearly not their car)!!! Unfortunately as well, some would perhaps refer to that as, I suppose, 'anti-social' or 'psychotic' behavior... Perhaps frown on that response a touch... But, it's a nice maniacal fantasy anyway . I knew at some point it would inevitably happen... But even so... Argh!! At some point I'm going to have to find one of those epoxy dent pullers...
