I just like this color more and more, it's subtle and loud at the same time, if that makes any sense.

Recently picked up this well equipped JCW and I'm just truly enjoying this awesome car.

Don't see this color either on the road, I have friends with Blue & White S models, I think one of my Friends has 130k mikes on and counting.

 

Absolutely it does! I'd add "and happy"! A fellow MINIac once told me MY is "just such a happy color", and I thoroughly agree... kind of adopted the sentiment

 

Real sorry to hear about your damage. It was exciting to find out the info on the MYs. I agree with you guys, they are all of the above.

I found out yesterday, that my "Horizon Blue Metalic" is now on the retired list as of 2011. Now I own two exceptual MINIs.

 

Just came by to see how things were going with the MY crowd... I posted about Melo' on 7/28/08 (at time of purchase) and still own the MINI...just some upgrades but still keeping it without stripes etc. Remains fun to drive (to date have about 19K miles on the odo) and now in particular with upgraded tires over the run flats>>>

well i finally got my wheels and suspension done along with my jcw grill trim what do you guys think??

 

Oh wow, I LOVE those wheels. Very nice. When you get some better lighting can you post some more shots from the same distance as the first one? Better lighting so we can see the wheels better and I'd love some better shots showing off your stripe.

Thanks! Yeah those are with my iPhone. Hopefully it will be dry this weekend and I can get it cleaned and take better pics. My stripe is actually carbon fibr and so is my hood scoop and had cap. I'll def take more pics soon. Thanks again

Just saw this thread. As of two days ago I am now a member of the Mellow Yellow club... I traded my British Racing Green in for a Mellow Yellow...

I couldn't resist taking this pic of it the first time I drove it in daylight.

Fun little story from last night. Was on way home from work sitting in traffic happy as a clam. A BMW pulled up next to me and signaled me to roll down my windows. He said "that's a HOT color - love your Cooper, sounds sweet too", pulled out a camera (digital SLR!!) that must have been sitting on his lap (???) and started taking pix of Cary! Odd experience but definitely made the chest puff out a bit and brought a smile to my face

It happened AGAIN! These really are show stoppers indeed. On my way back from motoring the the entire northern half of Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah Valley Saturday I was almost at home, stopped at a light. An adjacent car signaled me to lower my window. He complimented Cary and asked what kind of mileage he got. After I told him he said "your bee has really got it goin' on!" I thoroughly agree!

I did not know there was a new 'yellow' out until Fireproof noted it, so I went to the MINI site and........well I have a IMac with a HD screen and color rendition is excellent and the "Bright Yellow" is no more yellow than our cars are pink. I guess I am going to have to see it person, but I am not letting Melo go any time soon! Having too much fun now doing some performance mods

 

The new yellow is definitely unique. I met a driver who had just gotten hers and loved it. It wouldn't be for me, that's for sure, but there'll be owners out there who will love it, and it certainly keeps with the uniqueness theme that MINI has going.

 

The new one will have to grow on me!
