Pulled the trigger..

After last week's experiences (losing a good friend in a car wreck), I wasn't sure I still had the fires burning to buy a new MCS. Last Saturday I rode my HD to the Mini dealer in Winston-Salem for the sole purpose of getting out of town, blowing out some cob-webs, and taking their MCSa demo for a spin one more time before I made up my mind.

The demo ride did it.. I told the guys at Flow Mini that I'd take a SS/Redwood Lounge MCSa they had coming in that hadn't been sold.

I took the day off today to go get it, and I must say, the 160+ mile ride back to the house, all on winding 2-lane back roads, was the most fun I've had on four wheels in a long, long time. I actually caught myself saying out loud, "this is one great car!".. (no joke).

I did get caught in a major deluge, so when I got the car home I had to give it a quick bath..

I can see that Muttly will be a member of this household for a long time to come.

Kudos to the folks at Flow.. they put up with my indecision and sometimes short fuse, and the delivery went extremely well. I'd recommend them to anyone in the Atlantic region.

Very nice - Congratulations!

Great looking MINI, you appear to have had a super first drive.

Good interior picture, put some other up when you have down time and are not pushing up the miles for break-in.

Don't you love the paddles!

I honestly don't think I would have bought the car if it hadn't come with paddles. I can't drive a standard trans any more (my knees are shot), and frankly, I doubt that I could shift a 6-speed manual as fast as the car shifts using the paddles.
