Bicycle For 3

Hope this is the right place to post this...

Has anyone, or does anyone know about roof rack configurations.
Can you get 3 bicycles on the roof.

Thanks :-)

I don't have my MINI yet but am getting the roof rack. In my previous experience with bikes on the roof of my old Saturn, the only real issue is having:

1. Enough rails on the roof rack (and if fork mount rails, having front tire holders - esp true for the mini with limited interior cargo space for 3 wheels)
2. If wide handlebars on the bike(s), staggering the configuration with 2 forward on the ends and 1 backwards in the middle (or something to that effect).

Should be no issue from what I can see.

Yea Unixgal I was thinking the same thing about "staggering the configuration with 2 forward on the ends and 1 backwards in the middle (or something to that effect)." I'm just wondering if I should be thinking along the lines of a Thule rack where you can get wider cross bars to accomodate the width of the 3 bikes staggered. Granted the bars would stick out about a foot beyond the width of the car but, as this is my only mode of transport I have little choice. Lol...it would probably look like a flying insect going down the road.

what I used to do on my yakima was loosen the stem on one bike and turn the bars. You will not need to reverse one of the bars works better.
