R56 in October
Hello. I would like to thank everyone here for loving their car so much. I've been lurking for about 1 1/2 weeks since I seriously began to consider a Cooper. Today I took the plunge and ordered after reading 97 threads of love.
Here are my initial specs:
PAINT
Pepper White Body Color $0
Black Roof/Mirrors $0
White Turn Signals $100
PACKAGE
Sport Package $1,400
Dynamic Stability Control
Xenon Headlamps w/Power Wash
17" Crown-Spoke (Performance)
No Bonnet Stripes
PERFORMANCE
Sport Suspension $500
Front Fog Lamps STD
Rear Fog Lamp $100
Limited Slip Differential $500
6-Speed Getrag Manual STD
COCKPIT
3-Spoke Leather Steering Wheel STD
Sport Seats STD
On-Board Computer STD
Anthracite Headliner $200
Leatherette: Black/Grey STD
Interior Surface Checkered STD
10-Speaker. Hi-Fi Sound System $550
Shift **** - Tuscan Beige (installation not incl.) $53
E-Brake Handle - Tuscan Beige (installation not incl.) $49
Here is where your opinion would be appreciated...
Here are some changes I'm thinking of calling tomorrow making:
1.) adding piano black surface
My issue with this option is the scratch resistance (or lack thereof). In your knowledgeable opinions, will there be aftermarket options available within a reasonably close time frame.
2.) steering wheel covers
Eventually, I'm changing upholstery to Tuscan Beige (hence, the E-brake and shifter options). I just didn't like the way MINI options required the selection other options in order to obtain it. With that said, I would also like to "beige out" my steering wheel but can't justify the cost for a simple different color tanning...on half of the wheel. Does anyone know a place to buy steering wheel covers. Specifically of the Tuscan Beige (or similar color/different name) variety?
Thanks for being such a great community.
